de Fossard Communications is a family business, founded by mother and son, Claire & Fred de Fossard.
Drawing upon their combined experience in public relations, media, consultancy and opinion research, de Fossard Communications was established to help clients find new ways of communicating with customers, and break into new markets across the globe.
de Fossard Communications’ co-founder, Claire is a long time entrepreneur who began her working life at The Times and Sunday Times, latterly as an assistant editor for Times Books. She built a press and publicity company in the 1980s with high profile clients from the worlds of fashion, furniture, publishing and the arts, as well as a variety of manufacturing and engineering firms. Clients Kodak and Christie’s Contemporary Arts brought her recognition internationally. Having sold her business to the Buchanan Read Group, she has continued her career exploring opportunities in markets as diverse as financial services, art and culture, and agriculture.
Steven is an astute journalist and public relations campaigner, with a proven track record of securing coverage in global media. Based in Mexico, he has significant knowledge of emerging and developed markets alike, and is well-placed to support UK-based clients in Latin America. With an excellent reach into leading news media as well as sector-specific and consumer titles, Steven delivers effective coverage and exposure, whether through sharp social media campaigns, in-depth features or interviews.
Fred established de Fossard Communications in 2016 to build an agency which could help clients take advantage of a rapidly changing world. With a background in policy and opinion research, he has managed grassroots campaigns, built international coalitions, and helped global tech firms engage with policy at the highest level. Having served as a special adviser in the British government from 2020 to 2022, he has returned to de Fossard Communications with an unparalleled understanding of how government works and the way in which communications, policymaking and politics entwine.
